Reception drinks

The first thing that guests will see at your reception will be the drinks, so make sure they make an impression.

1. Keep it simple. But that doesn't mean drinks have to be plain. For instance, with champagne, place a raspberry in each glass, or float a piece of gold leaf on top.

2. How about cocktails? A mojito is very refreshing, but ensure that there are also non-alcoholic versions.

3. Expect each guest to have two drinks. However, allow for three each if you're incorporating time to take photographs.

4. Don't go overboard and provide too much alcohol at this stage. If guests drink too much this soon, they won't appreciate the meal or the rest of the day.

5. Think about tying in the colours of the drinks to match your theme. For instance, pink champagne.
