Wedding Cakes: Expert wedding tips

Choosing a wedding cake

1. You'll need to know how many guests are attending the wedding - this is crucial in order to choose the right size of cake.

2. Think about when your cake will be eaten. Is it to be eaten as a dessert, with coffee, or is it for guests to take home?

3. A wedding cake needs height so that it can be seen from across the reception room. You’ll need to choose from cake pillars, stacked cakes and individual cakes on a metal stand.

4. What flavours do you like? A wedding cake doesn’t have to be a traditional fruit cake, so think about other flavours.

5. Don’t feel that you must have a traditional white cake that no one will remember. When choosing your wedding cake, the only limit is your imagination!
